Veterinary Medical Education in the Media

Dear Pre-vet students,

Some of you may have read this article in the New York Times last week. We wanted to inform you that AAVMC President Deborah Kochevar wrote a response, which is available on the AAVMC website.

The response includes some recent good news about the employment rate for U.S. veterinary graduates six months after graduation, in significant contrast to the information provided in the article, which is based upon a pre-graduation survey. It also addresses other issues related to veterinary medical education, including student debt, employability, salaries, and the importance of interpreting numbers in context.
